But 96 and newer cars that fail the first time have to go to a private garage for re-inspection. Currently, inspection can be done at a state facility (at no charge) or a private garage (you have to pay).

There is also exemptions on newer vehicles depending on weight.
Why we still have inspections is beyond me at this rate

I kid. It was the strangest thing when I was there. Been to a few weddings and for some reason ‘the war’ always came up... and how they couldn’t believe the damn Yankees were there... or that the bride was marrying a Yankee.
